Gothic girls and guys alike would choose clothes with tone in the form of symbols to compliment the look of their outfits. Some symbols are worn upside down to imply a reversal of meanings. Just because a goth wears a cross upside down does not mean they are a Satanist. Goths wear symbols but mostly to shock people or for some visual effect. Gothic crosses, runes, ankhs and pentagrams seem to be most popular for Goths as well as these symbols: daggers, silver bullets, bats, dragons, coffins, devils & demons, skulls and skeletons, serpents, spider webs and graveyards. But three most welcomed one are the following ones: crosses, ankh and pentagrams.
The crosses are usually dark Germanic which popular in the gothic and vampire cultures. Ankh was popular in ancient Egypt, and was interpreted as the key of life. The pentagram is a five-pointed star which symbolize fire, earth, air, water and spirit. Some gothic people may wear it to shock people or for exaggerated effect.
No matter they are most popular or popular, they will absolutely fulfill your gothic look.
